Thanksgiving in Mendocino

So before Christmas comes and goes, I am making a feeble attempt at getting some Thanksgiving pictures up on the blog. We were lucky to get away for a few days to Mendocino, a lovely little New England-ish village three hours north of SF. We took walks, went to the ocean, went in the ocean (well, one of us did), ate some wonderful meals, talked at the local bookshop (again, one of us) did some shopping and generally just wandered around the town.

Mendocino coast

Glass Beach in Fort Bragg

Waiting for the waves to roll in

Sand in hands

Glass Beach walk with the kid reluctantly strapped back on (or else she'd run into the ocean)

Mama and Molly

Big waves

Mendocino hotel lobby (lots of good pre-Molly memories here for us)

Daddy and Molly on the Mendocino hotel balcony (Daddy's trying to get a nice picture while Molly tried to pick the flowers)

Playing in a tent in the best toy store ever

Strolling in the toy store

In the B&B lobby, me looking slightly annoyed though I don't remember why...focus on Molly, she looks adorable

Ready to go outside for an adventure

Patiently waiting at the door

Not so patient anymore

Happy walkers

We met a furry friend on a walk about town

Reading in the bookshop

A new twist on an old game

Peekabo!

Daddy made lots of fires for us in our B&B room (and Molly observed very closely)

We read many books, both ones that we brought along and some new stories too

Pumpkin Pie! Not comparable to Papa Sheffield's by any means, but, hey, it's pumpkin pie.

Controlling the fork

After Thanksgiving dinner

Ocean

Busy playing in the sand and cold ocean water

Digging at the beach

Very focused

Yes, she is jumping into a freezing puddle, leather mary janes and all

Throwing sand

Molly, digging alongside her name (written in the sand by Daddy. Can you see it?)

Molly, Mama, and the Pacific Ocean at sunset

Daddy and Molly pose at lunch

At Sharon's-by-the-Sea (best fish and chips, ever!)(and the friendliest seagulls, too!)

Cheese! Molly with a cookie face (free cookies at the B&B = eating lots of cookies!)

All bundled up for an ocean walk at nightime

Snuggling daddy on the cool wooden swing overlooking the ocean

With mama, swinging in the dark

Nighttime walk

And nursing, of course
